Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Massage ? The Whole Body Experience
In the current world, there is ample scope for getting worked up and landing up in a lot of stress. Lifestyle has become fast, but not easy and life has come to be equated with speed and scurrying instead of sophistication. With there being so much to add to stress and anxiety, it is only natural that the human mind seeks out for stress busters that provide some breathing space. Fortunately, life does give you some respite and a window of opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and give yourself the attention and care that your body deserves, in the form of Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage.
You could enjoy the Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage if you are ready to spare a couple of days out of the dense complexity of life, relaxing in a wonderful ambience under expert care of Hawaiian masseurs who have been trained in the art of filling your body with energy and filling your mind with bliss.
There is a reason why you would enjoy the Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage like none other. In most massages, there are restrictions on the extent to which the massage is administered, with massages focussing on specific parts of the body and missing out on the complete experience. The good thing about the Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage is that it focuses on the entire body.
The all-body Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage works on the principle that the body is not made of individual parts put together, but is a complete mechanism that is inter-related through a common flow of energy. The idea is that massaging a part of the body wouldn’t result in complete rejuvenation, unless the body is cleared internally for the energy to flow through the structure. It is most natural that we do not use all parts of the body equally, and some parts of the body tend to be used less frequently in comparison with others. With the Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage, the cells in the unused or less used parts of the body that block the free flow of energy throughout the body tend to get cleared out. Most physical problems in the body are a result of blockages in the system, and once these blockages are removed, and when the energy flow is complete, the body and the mind feel rejuvenated and inspired. With the experience being enriched by a serene atmosphere, the perfect ambience and soothing music, all you need to do is to enjoy the massage Lexington ky , giving yourself in to the luxury and relaxation that would make you experience bliss.

Therapeutic Body Massage Services for Patients with Advanced Cancer in Charlotte NC
Cancer is often a very painful disease. In its advanced stages, it is usually incurable. Care for patients with advanced cancer therefore focuses mainly on pain relief and providing the best quality of life possible under the circumstances. Therapeutic body massage services have been proven to be of great benefit for the alleviation of pain and other discomforts of patients with advanced cancer. There are massage therapists from professional massage clinics that specialize in this specific therapeutic body massage which may include foot massage and back massage. This could be from the same massage clinics that also offer therapeutic reflexology, deep tissue massage, sports massage and Swedish massage in Charlotte NC.
When patients with advanced cancer experience great pain coupled with loss of hope for any cure, they are very often thrust into deep depression and anxiety. Members of the family, close friends and caregivers are, therefore, concerned not only with the alleviation of these patients’ physical pain but also with the elevation of their moods and emotions. Fortunately, research results show that therapeutic body massage services can indeed decrease the pain felt by advanced cancer patients while at the same time having a positive impact on their mood. Even if these effects are only temporary, such short periods of comfort are of immense value in their condition.
The September 16, 2008 issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine published the study entitled “Massage Therapy versus Simple Touch to Improve Pain and Mood in Patients with Advanced Cancer: A Randomized Trial”.
The study was participated in by 380 adult patients in advanced stages of cancer. They had all been suffering from pain at levels rated as moderate and higher.
The participants were randomly assigned to either a massage therapy group or a simple touch group. The massage therapy group was given six voluntary sessions of 30 minute therapeutic body massage services with unscented massage cream by trained massage therapists in a span of two weeks. During the same time period, the simple touch group was given six voluntary sessions of 30 minutes each when untrained personnel would place both hands on each of 10 specified body areas for three minutes. Unscented massage cream was also used.
Assessments were performed on the patients before the two week treatment period, right after the two week treatment period, and every week thereafter for the succeeding three weeks. Patients in the massage therapy group were found to have experienced better pain relief and had more elevated moods as compared to patients in the simple touch group. The effects of the therapeutic body massage services were only short term, though.
Licensed massage therapist Tracy Walton has treated a lot of patients in advanced stages of cancer. According to her, these patients value therapeutic body massage services despite the short term benefits because it gives them respite from suffering. According to Walton, “My clients tell me that they don’t just fight cancer: they endure, yield, pray, grieve and persevere. Cancer requires people to spend time in confusion, terror, and mystery.” While undergoing therapeutic body massage services, these patients allow others to help them relax and recharge.
All therapeutic body massage services given by professionally trained massage therapists from reputable massage clinics are beneficial to the health, including therapeutic foot massage services, back massage services, reflexology massage services, deep tissue massage services, sports massage services and Swedish massage services. For patients in advanced stages of cancer, however, the most appropriate and beneficial therapeutic body massage services would be from licensed massage therapists who had been specifically trained in therapeutic oncology body massage. These massage therapists will know how to properly customize each session according to the particular needs of patients with advanced cancer. If you have a family member or friend who has need for such therapeutic oncology body massage services, you could perhaps give him or her gift cards to a professional massage clinic in Charlotte NC to show your concern.

What is BODY MASSAGE?
BODY MASSAGE
Massage Therapy
Definition
Massage therapy is the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of normalizing those tissues and consists of manual techniques that include applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, and/or causing movement of or to the body.
Purpose
Generally, massage is known to affect the circulation of blood and the flow of blood and lymph, reduce muscular tension or flaccidity, affect the nervous system through stimulation or sedation, and enhance tissue healing. These effects provide a number of benefits:
reduction of muscle tension and stiffness
relief of muscle spasms
greater flexibility and range of motion
increase of the ease and efficiency of movement
relief of stress and aide of relaxation
promotion of deeper and easier breathing
improvement of the circulation of blood and movement of lymph
relief of tension-related conditions, such as headaches and eyestrain
promotion of faster healing of soft tissue injuries, such as pulled muscles and sprained ligaments, and reduction in pain and swelling related to such injuries
reduction in the formation of excessive scar tissue following soft tissue injuries
enhancement in the health and nourishment of skin
improvement in posture through changing tension patterns that affect posture
reduction in stress and an excellent stress management tool
creation of a feeling of well-being
reduction in levels of anxiety
increase in awareness of the mind-body connection
promotion of a relaxed state of mental awareness
Massage therapy also has a number of documented clinical benefits. For example, massage can reduce anxiety, improve pulmonary function in young asthma patients, reduce psycho-emotional distress in persons suffering from chronic inflammatory bowel disease, increase weight and improve motor development in premature infants, and may enhance immune system functioning. Some medical conditions that massage therapy can help are: allergies, anxiety and stress, arthritis, asthma and bronchitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive motion injuries, chronic and temporary pain, circulatory problems, depression, digestive disorders, tension headache, insomnia, myofascial pain, sports injuries, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
Preparations
Going for a massage requires little in the way of preparation. Generally, one should be clean and should not eat just before a massage. One should not be under the influence of alcohol or non-medicinal drugs.
Precautions
Massage is comparatively safe; however it is generally contraindicated, i.e., it should not be used, if a person has one of the following conditions: advanced heart diseases, hypertension (high blood pressure), phlebitis, thrombosis, embolism, kidney failure, cancer if massage would accelerate metastasis (i.e., spread a tumour) or damage tissue that is fragile due to chemotherapy or other treatment, infectious diseases, contagious skin conditions, acute inflammation, infected injuries, unhealed fractures, dislocations, frostbite, large hernias, torn ligaments, conditions prone to haemorrhage, and psychosis.
Massage should not be used locally on affected areas (i.e., avoid using massage on the specific areas of the body that are affected by the condition) for the following conditions: rheumatoid arthritis flare up, eczema, goitre, and open skin lesions. Massage may be used on the areas of the body that are not affected by these conditions.
In some cases, precautions should be taken before using massage for the following conditions: pregnancy, high fevers, osteoporosis, diabetes, recent postoperative cases in which pain and muscular splinting (i.e., tightening as a protective reaction) would be increased, apprehension, and mental conditions that may impair communication or perception. In such cases, massage may or may not be appropriate. The decision on whether to use massage must be based on whether it may cause harm. For example, if someone has osteoporosis, the concern is whether bones are strong enough to withstand the pressure applied. If one has a health condition and has any hesitation about whether massage therapy would be appropriate, a physician should be consulted.
Side effects
Massage therapy does not have side effects. Sometimes people are concerned that massage may leave them too relaxed or too mentally unfocused. To the contrary, massage tends to leave people feeling more relaxed and stress free.
Massage provides an effective way to control pain for some people and may also be an excellent medium to aid in relaxation or stress reduction. For those interested in receiving massage, be aware that technique varies widely from therapist to therapist. It is advisable to shop around to find someone you are comfortable with. I am frequently asked how one finds a good massage therapist. I believe that word-of-mouth is preferable to using advertisements or massage organization referrals. Even those who are licensed or certified often engage in questionable practices. Be wary of any massage therapist who makes specific medical claims or claims to “heal” people.
